Today Mr. Herry checked our homework. He also explain more about the 8 bar melody theory. Mr. Herry also asked us to write lyrics in our composition so it could be a one whole song. I'm not good at making lyrics so I just match the number of sylabels and the number of notes and I just start to write random things about my self.

Today I listened to my friend's finale project in front of the class using Mr. Herry's computer. Mr. Herry teach us how to transform and develop a 4 bar melody in to an 8 bar melody with several expanding skills. I could understand the expanding skills well and I also tried to practiced it in theory class. As a result, my previous 4 bar melody could be an 8 bar longer melody and it sounds better.

Today I learnt how to use and opeate the Finale software in theory class. Finale software is a software to make our composition using the computer. It has a lot of fiture to program our own composition including the playback fiture to play our composition digitally so we could visualize how our melody sounds like. I also watched and listened to some of my friend's composition.

Today I made my melody composition with the A B C format style and my teacher gave feedback on how to make my composition better. Mr. Herry also played one of my friend's composition using piano and i think the composition sounds good. I would try to take his advice and practiced it so I could make a better composition in the coming composition making activity.

Today I learnt about composing melody with A B C style arrangement and I was given the homework to compose 12 bar melody with not a single bar repeated. I forgot to bring my music book today and I also forgot to do my previous music homework. I would try to do my homework and not to forget doing it for the next music classes.

Today I made my own notes composition that consists of 4 line with 4 bar each. In each bar we have to composed our own notes with a total of 4 beats. In the beginning I just randomly put random notes together in a bar but when I try to play it it sounds weird so I change the notes in a lot of part so it could sound better. I think I would like this kind of activity because it uses our creativity in arranging the notes so the composition could sound good.

Today I had my western song singing assestment. If the last music assestment I was asked to sing an Indonesian song solo, this time I gotta choose 1 song between 'You've got a friend' and 'Somewhere out there' and I could choose if i want to do the assestment in duet. I chose the song 'Somewhere out there' because I chosed to do a duet with one of my class mate, Kevin and we tought that the song was better if we sing it in duet than the other song 'You've got a friend'. We did the assestment pretty well specially in reaching the notes but we forgot the lyrics of some part of the song.

Today I had my singing assestment. I sang Indonesia Pusaka in front of the class. I did some practiced at home to memorize the lyrics but during the assestment I think I did it not very well because I laughed at some part of the song because my friends are making jokes. I would be having another singing assestment and I would try harder to get better score for the next assestment.

Today I have my triad/chords and inversion assestment. I think I did it well because i practiced the topic several times at home to understand the topic better. For the next assestment, I'm going  to have my singing assestment and I have to practice hard because I have problems with self confidence specially when I should perform in front of a lot of people even though they're my friends.

Today I had quiz about notation. I got 15/20 and 20/20 for the quiz. I think I did the quiz well enough due to the marks I got. On Thursday, I'm going to have my inversion assestment. I have studied the topic at home and try to understand it better to be ready for the quiz.

Today I practiced about chords and inversion. I did the practice not really well and I still have problems understanding and memorizing the theory. Next week I'm going to have a quiz about chords and inversion so I have to study harder to understand the topic well so I could get good marks.

Today is the first music class after the term break. Mr. Herry told us about our scores. I got 8/10 for my singing assestment, 9/10 for my classical practical assestment and 6/8 for my project. I think my scores are good enough and I was satisfied with it and I think i deserve it due to the effort I gave to practiced. Today I also practiced making chords and inversion in theory class. I'm not really good at it and I need some more practice to understand the topic better.

Today I have my classical music assestment. I played the song titled Adentico that was composed by Matteo Carcassi. I practiced this song several times at school during the instrument calss time with other guitar instrument students. I also practiced this song several times at home and I could memorize it well. After the assestment I tought I played the song well because I had not missed a single note and I hope I could get satisfying score.

Today me and my class mates discuss about the classical songs that we are going to play for our assestment. I started to search for classical songs with my guitar instrument teacher Mr. John during the guitar instrument class. I tought this classical music assestment would be hard because I don't really like classical music and I can't enjoy this kind of music genre. But I'll try my best to enjoy the song I choose so I could practice it maximally.

Today the singing assestment continued. My friends did perform well and today finally every body has done their performance and only 3 or 4 left to re-do their assestment because they didn't pass their first try. It's a good thing to know that every body had done their assestment because that means we would be having instrument class again and I hope the instrument class would be even longer because we got assestment for the instrument class also and so far we had only practice a bit for the assestment. Mr. Heri also remind us to start our research on the popular song to make the power point presentation slides that would be our next group assestment. So far, I have started my research on the guitar history of popular song but me and my group haven't discuss much about the slides yet.

Today the assestment continued again. More friends were performing their pop song and I have to admit, some were very good even though not all of them did so well. I'm proud of my friends because they perform with great confidence and they could pass the assestment well. Today once again we had no instrument class and I hope we would be having instrument class soon because I started to feel bored in class.

Today the assestment continued. Some of my friends sang really well and I enjoy some performances. Today we didn't do much because of the assestment and there was no instrument class again. In the coming music class, more friends would be performing because the time we had today was not enough for every one to perform their assestment.

Today I performed my music singing assestment. I do practice the song several times at home while playing guitar but I fount it hard to sing while playing guitar. I felt very nervous at first but after I strumed my guitar I started to enjoy the song while I slowly sing the lyrics. Some of my friends also done their assestment today but due to time limitation some should continue in the coming music class. After I'm done with my performance, I was given a paper to reflect my performance and fill a short essay about the song that I played.

Today we practice for the singing assestment. Some of my friends sing the song they chose but I didn't sing because I'm not really sure if I would sing the song 'You'll Be in My Heart'. I watched my friends sing one bye one and they were great. One thing that amazed me was their confidence. I don't think I would be confident enough to sing when my turn comes in the assestment and I really need to start practicing at home. We didn't have the instrument class today because we used the whole period to practice one by one.

Today I was supposed to decide what song I would sing for the singing assestment. The song should be a popular song. I chose a song titled 'You'll Be in My Heart' that was originally sing by Phill Collins but then was remade by Usher. I would perform while playing the guitar chords of the song. Today Mr. Heri also showed us a video of 'Heal the World' and after that we were asked to sing the song.

Today was my first music class. My music theory teacher is Mr. Heri. I plan to take the guitar instrument class because I have so much interest on guitar skills and playing guitar. At class I was told about the Music class Term 1 assestment and we also discuss about the popular music. In term 1 music class, we are going to learn deeper about popular music and songs. I hope music class would be fun and could help me improve my guitar skills.
